Day 4 – Tell me, how you value yourself?

04 Jun

If every person is responsible for own self-worth, there would be many disappointments avoid; unfortunately most people leave it to others to decide.

“Mirror, mirror on the wall. Tell me who is the most beautiful woman or handsome man in the world?” You will say of course yourself! It’s not about being arrogant or self-conceit, but it is about how you see and value yourself and being supportive to yourself.

If you show 100 people the same 1 picture of yours, there will be at least 100 different comments, if not few happen to be the same. Do those 100 comments tell the world who you are? Are those 100 comments equal to who you are? Do you let those 100 comments determine who you truly are? These 100 comments are the perceptions of others, based on their own interpretation, understanding and personal experiences in this world. They are good referencing points, but not the ultimate truth.

If you see yourself beyond what eyes could see, explore and know who you are deep inside after appreciating own strengths, accepting own weaknesses, embracing own vulnerabilities, then you will be able to determine your own self-worth based on the understanding of your true self, then no one could influence your self-worth. What others said will simply be some snap shots of perception on ‘how you are’ at that crossing moments, but not truly who you are. It is grateful to have these snap shots feedback ensuring you are still on your road to true self.

Remember, there is a reason ‘self-worth’ is not named as ‘other-worth’; because it’s coming from you, you decide how much you worth. If you let others to decide for you and you feel trapped and under-valued, it is about time to take the ownership back on your hand!

Today I love myself by: (read the below aloud 3 times and listen to what you read)

I see and take myself as the most beautiful inside out, precious and complete creation in the world; I have been given this life to live happily, enjoy to its fullest, because I am worthy; and I will take the ownership of my own self-worth, I determine my own self-worth.

Today’s home work:

Explore who you truly are within, after writing down your strengths and appreciating them, own weaknesses and accepting them (avoid thinking about improving them, simply accepting them as they are now), own vulnerabilities and embracing their existence; take ownership and determine your own self-worth in a pampering manner (Day 2 exercise).

Encouragement for myself:

(It’s your space…)
